Our Birchermuesli Recipe
Many of our guests who choose the healthy breakfast option ask us for the recipe for our birchermuesli. Here it is:
Measure two cups of steel-cut rolled oats into a bowl and then add the following:
Two tablespoons of golden raisins or sultanas
Two tablespoons of chopped almonds
Add sufficient unsweetened soy milk to cover the muesli mix and place in the refrigerator overnight.
In the morning, drain any surplus soy milk (usually most of the soy milk will have soaked into the oats) and then mix in a small tub of plain unsweetened yoghurt, half a cup of freshly grated apple, and half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
Decorate with fruit and mint leaves. Sweeten with natural honey if required.
Will serve 2-3 people.
The quantities of the ingredients can be varied to suit individual tastes.
